Overview

On 14 August 2020, the Hon Mark Coulton, Minister for Regional Health, Regional Communications and Local Government, announced a review into the Hearing Services Program.

An Independent Expert Panel comprising Professor Mike Woods (Chair) and Dr Zena Burgess is conducting the Review. The Expert Panel is supported by a Secretariat from the Department of Health.

Stakeholder and community consultation is a key part of the Review.  The first consultation included inviting submissions on the 2020 Consultation Paper and holding Expert Panel meetings with interested groups and individuals.  This Consultation Paper and the submissions can be viewed on the next page.

This second consultation includes seeking submissions on the Draft Review Report and virtual information sessions with the Expert Panel to discuss the report and its proposed recommendations.  This feedback will inform the finalisation of the Report before it is delivered to Minister Coulton in July 2021.
